Courteney Cox has delighted Friends fans as she’s taken to Instagram and ‘accidentally’ shown fans how she’s exactly like her beloved character, Monica Geller as her ‘messy closet’ is exposed.
The Friends actors took over the world with their hit sitcom which lasted for ten seasons from 1994 – 2004, and almost two decades since it ended, the TV show, and characters are still as popular as ever.
Courteney Cox ‘accidentally’ shows off messy closet
Taking to her 12.9 million Instagram followers, the 59-year-old took fans on a tour as she’d “redone her dining room,” however, what came next had fans in stitches.
The Hollywood star’s friend, Max, who was behind the camera, stitched Cox up as he asked: “Wait what’s in here?” while opening a sliding door.
Viewers were then shown a room piled up with boxes, duvets, and a whole load of other miscellaneous items, as Courteney, who quickly turned into her character Monica, tried to hide the mess and close the door as she jokingly exclaimed:
“Oh my gosh, nothing! Max, nothing. Please, Max, stop! That’s not funny. Seriously, don’t film it, Erase the footage now, okay?”
In the caption, the movie star joked: “Come on…we all have one [shh emoji], #secretcloset #monica.”
Of course, she’s relating back to the iconic Season 8 Friends scene in the episode: “The One With The Secret Closet” where Matthew Perry, aka Chandler, finds out his wife has been hiding her ‘secret’ messy closet from him.
The post sends Friends fans into a frenzy
Since it seems unlikely that Friends fans will ever get a reunion episode, they’ll have to carry on watching on Netflix for now. However, since Courteney gave them some content to enjoy, of course, they went wild with references from the hit show in the comments.
“Maybe it’s Richard in there,” joked one fan.
Another penned: “’Hehe you’re messy’ (cue Chandler Bing laugh face).”
“She’s so (MONICA GELLER),” laughed another.
Others couldn’t help but drop an array of Chandler gifs in the comments, and we’re absolutely here for it!
